We are exploring Richmond and its surrounding areas to uncover cozy, kid-friendly spots where moms can actually feel comfortable, recharge, and savor the little joys all around us—while celebrating the small businesses that make our community special.

This week I had the pleasure of meeting Erin from E Mc B Photography for coffee at Brecotea, a charming local café that deserves a spot on every mom’s must-visit list. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels both refreshing and welcoming, making it the kind of place you will want to return to again and again.


Brecotea is filled with natural light and lush greenery, creating a calm and inviting setting. The café also has thoughtfully designed private nooks, which make it a particularly comfortable option for breastfeeding moms or anyone looking for a quiet corner to relax. It feels friendly, approachable, and never intimidating. The barista even mentioned that they often see moms stopping in, which makes it feel like an especially mom-friendly space.



The menu is as delightful as the atmosphere. Options include cheesecake, blueberry cream brioche, egg tarts, savory chicken sandwiches, and flavorful chicken curry buns. Paired with their expertly brewed coffee, every bite feels like a treat. With plenty of parking, strong WiFi, and a warm and welcoming staff, it is also a wonderful spot to get some work done while your kids enjoy something sweet.

They are one of the only Chesterfield businesses featured on the Too Good To Go app, which helps reduce food waste by offering surprise boxes of extra items at the end of the day. I picked one up for only $4.99 and brought home four fresh pastries. It is such a fun and practical way to support the café while doing something good for the planet.
